Bud Brown opened West Frankfort House Furnishing in 1946 as an expansion of the ER Brown Furniture Company. The store, with its two levels, provides more floor space to display beautiful furniture for every room in your home. This store focuses on providing customers good quality, economically priced furniture with family-friendly service. WF House has many loyal, repeat customers who shop here for all their furniture needs.
Jim and Virginia Brown Gray (daughter of E.R. Brown) managed the store for many years when it first opened. Fondly known in the community as “Uncle Jim,” together they set the tone for the friendly family environment of the store. When Uncle Jim passed, Bill Wilson became the long-time manager.
The store has seen its share of unusual incidents through the years! The family received a call in 2007 of a deer that charged through the plate glass window and was running amuck through the store. After some narrow escapes and much damage, the police managed to control the situation. The plate glass window fell victim again in 2008 to an unusual derecho that struck the Southern Illinois area.
Today, Andy Brown, grandson of E.R. and son of Warren Brown, has managed WF House since 1989. The store’s focus continues to be quality furniture at competitive prices, and friendly service. Come meet Andy at WF House Furnishing. He and his staff would love to help you furnish a perfect room or your entire home!
